early mornings
The sun shining through a drop of dew and then going forth in multiple directions from there.
And I pick a pea and eat it. Sorry Magnus.
And speaking of peas, we saw the neighbor take a pea over the fence. It's quite funny to tell someone that, more than reading it, but you get the picture. I wonder, if the leeks were closer to his yard would he have taken a leek over the fence?

Hello Again!
I am writing from another computer, and therefor, cannot upload any pictures to show you of my baby blanket which is now finished. Thanks to all the wonderful Indian fabric stores, I was able to find appropriate edging. Fabricland was absolutely no help. (They told me to go online to look for the fabric I wanted - wow!)
I also have some pictures of the most wonderful part of my life!
Magnus Ransom.
He is amazing! I'm happy God is such a good knitter (knitist?), Psalm 139:13, because MR turned out perfect.
Take care,
Miss Woodcutter ;)

As you can probably guess by the infrequency of this blog, my life has been a little busy lately. I am busy wrapping things up at work, as I'll be taking time off to have my little baby, and getting ready for his arrival has been interesting thus far.
In some ways May 20th (or whichever day he arrives) cannot come fast enough. I haven't reached the uncomfortable, swollen feet, sore back, 'can you help me up' stages yet, but I am curious. What does he look like? Will he really be a boy like they suppose, or are we all going to be surprised by a sweet little girl? Will I actually be able to find the blanket edging in the right color anywhere so I can finish his blanket or will I have to make my own edge? Will he get on a good schedule soon, or will he be colic? (Oh I hope not)!!
I am looking forward to canning baby food this year. And in preparation for that, I am actually going to plant a spot in Mum's garden. (Thank you Mum)! I think mainly carrots for baby food. I plan on planting peas as well, but I'm sure I'll eat them all fresh-who can resist them when they're fresh?
This summer is going to be good. I have a stroller with a car seat attachment, and we'll be going for walks, and visiting Grandma & Grandpa and all the Aunties and Uncles and cousins.
I hope all of you are doing well, and keeping creative and sunny! God bless.

Today Old Man Winter reminded us all that he has not died yet.
And I would like to sleep.

The Bachelor(ette) who Couldn't Pee
...and a bottle of pee...
After sitting in the bathroom for way longer that normal, I concluded that there was no way I could give the required amount.
Without embarrassment, because it was a fact I couldn't change, I proceeded to put the bottle in the through-cupboard, washed up, and announced to the nurse (and all within earshot) that I couldn't pee more than a tablespoon.
I went home to conquer my fridge.
*a fact about me maybe a few of you know: If something goes bad in my fridge, I leave it in it's refrigerated container in the fridge until I am ready to deal with it and wash the container etc.*
So....I pulled out about 5 containers with contents now unknown. Took a spoon from the one kitchen drawer and headed to my little bathroom. I also took the precaution of the fact that the mystery contents may now have an unpleasant odor.
With whetted facecloth over my nose and mouth, I emptied 3 of the containers into the toilet, closed the lid and flushed. Went gasping back to the kitchen, dropped the empty containers into hot soapy water, and lit as many candles as I could readily find-about 5 in the kitchen, and 2 in the bathroom.
OK-back to the bathroom with the last container. This one was really a mystery. It was multi-colored and multi-textured. It plopped into the toilet with a solid thump as it rebounded off the bottom. 'Oh crap!' I thought, 'this is never gonna go down!' I closed the lid and flushed, wishing with all of my little brain cells that it would magically crumble, somehow, apart and go down without ever coming back to haunt me.
It didn't.
It didn't go down at all.
It's hard to break up a chunk of gross growing mass when you have one hand holding a facecloth (that's not quite working to keep the smell away) to your face. But break it up I did.
Close the lid. Flush. Swirl, swoosh, gurgle, bubble, choke, bubble...'it's not going down is it?!' I opened the lid once the noise stopped. There was everything, just as before, but in smaller chunks than the one solid piece of the first attempt.
One more try at breaking it up smaller. 'If this doesn't go down this time-I do not even want to think about how I'm going to have to get this out and throw it away....' *gag*
Smaller pieces successfully made, I hold the lid slightly closed so I can keep an eye on it this time - to monitor progress...
To my relief it went down without a problem.
'Why did I save this job for when I'm pregnant??' I go away breathing clean air.
So the next time I need to pee for the lab, I will drink water first.
The next time something goes bad in my fridge, I will deal with it like a girl should.
Oh-PS:
I thought pictures were inappropriate for this blog. I didn't want to make anyone puke. Besides, imagination serves a little too well most days anyway.

cuppa nice stuff
Something nice in a mug or two or ten for the cold/cough season is this:
1 TBSP fresh ginger root, washed, peeled, finely chopped
2 wedges of fresh lemon, peeled and sliced
1 TBSP honey
3 cups water
simmer all together for 10-15 minutes so the flavors come out.
pour into your mug and enjoy! You gotta eat the ginger pieces too-they're good for you!

club cards, saving cards, credit cards...
- Punch a hole in your club cards, gas cards, grocery cards, credit cards (not your debit, because it has to go inside the ABM), health care cards, gift cards, etc.
- Make sure that the holes will line up when all the cards are stacked.
- Do not punch over the magnetic strip or the bar codes.
- Organize them in the order you want.
- Place on key ring.
Makes it really easy to find the card you are looking for, and easy to find in your bag or purse because they're all clumped together :)

more room please!
What I did, was promptly go to all of the second hand stores in town, and searched for a small, sturdy, little shelf. No luck.
For those of you who have not seen my place, I live beneath a store. My landlord has one little storage room beneath that store, and she has to go through my little kitchen in order to get to this little storage room. So it's important to have groceries put out of the way, not just so my landlord doesn't trip over them, but for sanity's sake as well!
So for about 2 weeks, we've tripped over, gone insane, and looked in vane for a little shelf.
Thank you to a wonderful Sister who came to my rescue with her small, sturdy, unwanted little shelf! It's perfect.
